Creamy Homemade Hummus

Ingredients

1 (15-ounce) can chickpeas, drained and rinsed

1 tablespoon tahini

1–2 cloves garlic, peeled

Fresh lemon juice, to taste (about 1–2 tablespoons)

Sea salt, to taste

1–2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil or grapeseed oil (more if needed)

2–4 tablespoons water, as needed for desired consistency

Instructions

  1. Add the chickpeas, tahini, garlic, lemon juice, and sea salt to a food processor.
  2. Process until the mixture begins to smooth out.
  3. Slowly drizzle in the olive oil or grapeseed oil while the processor is running.
  4. Add water, one tablespoon at a time, until the hummus reaches your preferred creamy consistency.
  5. Taste and adjust with more lemon juice, garlic, or sea salt as desired.
  6. Serve immediately or refrigerate in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
